Celebrating Mudgee's best food and wine.
Flavours of Mudgee is a free community street festival event created by the Mid-Western Council to bring together local stallholders and their regional wine, food, and produce. Mudgee's CBD comes alive as crowds gather to have dinner in the street and taste all the flavours that Mudgee has to offer.
In 2018, Hi Tech Creative was awarded the project of developing a website to promote the Flavours of Mudgee street festival. The website was to be lightweight with a strong focus on mobile platform support while still maintaining an ease of use and adaptability that allowed event staff to react quickly to reassignments and changes to the stallholder locations.

Isometric Map Design
The most significant aspect of the website build was the construction of an isometric event map of where the Flavours of Mudgee festival takes place annually. To allow locals and visiting tourists to easily find their location on the map, we built models for landmarks that for quick visual reference of the viewer's current location. The event map contained interactive markers for all stallholders, amenities and information booths plus a sidebar for browsing and searching. A simple tap on the preferred location automatically centres the map on that location and provides information on that stallholder via a handy on-screen pop up.
A stall list was also developed to provide quick and easy browsing of all participants and registering for the site, allowing for users to mark and filter their favourite stalls ahead of time as well as leave tasting notes on each stall for future reference. Behind the scenes, a custom back-end was constructed on the WordPress platform to allow for extensive editing and modification of stall details and assignments from the event staff team as well as easy drag and drop editing and modification of the basic website pages.
“Mid-Western Regional Council engaged Hi Tech Creative to build and develop an interactive website for Flavours of Mudgee.
The project was delivered on time, within budget and ensured excellent consultation along the way. The HTC website development team were incredibly responsive to updates and continue to provide a high level of on-going technical support.”
